Flag Care Tips

Just a few tips to help care for your flag and enhance the longevity of it:)

1. "Ripstop Tape" aka "Gaffer Tape" the edges:

This MEGA strong tape is primary used for repairing and patching sailboats, tents, and parachutes  and can be added to all edges or corners of your flag to GREATLY enhance the durability at the seams.

It comes in many colors and can be found online on amazon or edenproducts.

Just search for "ripstop tape" or "Gaffer Tape"

2. The sun is undefeated....but...

We all know that the sun is undefeated when it comes to wearing down garments over time. However you may add a coat of Scotchguard  or 303 Aerospace Protectant  to help guard against the effects of the sun and the elements.

**Make sure you follow the directions on the bottle.

3. General Cleaning - 50% water / 50% vinegar Mix

It is suggested that your flag be wiped down and cleaned daily.   The reason for this is that microscopic dust particles get into the fabric and like any fabric garment (like a shirt or jacket)  it will deteriorate over time with prolonged use or from continued abuse from a machine washer or dryer (in the case of clothing.)

Fabric breakdown is accelerated when dust particles are embedded in the flag fabric as the flag flaps against itself at high speeds on a regular basis.

It is also recommended that you lower the flag at night time when not in use to help reduce wear and tear and prolong the life of your flag.

You may use a 50/50 solution of water and white vinegar to SPOT clean it. We do NOT recommend putting it in a washing machine or dryer. We also do not recommend submerging the flag entirely in water. Spot clean only.

4. Ironing on Lowest Setting

If you absolutely have iron your flag, please Iron on the lowest setting ONLY! Put a shirt or garment in-between the iron and the flag just to make sure it is not getting too much heat.  The flag should flatten out with normal use, but if you absolutely need to iron be sure to be very careful:)

Well that is it. Thanks for your continued support and always feel free to reach out with any questions, comments or concerns you may have.
